The Clay Corner Diversity Scholarship

At The Clay Corner, we value creating an inclusive community over all else. The best communities are diverse and rich with passion. Due to the financial commitments associated with ceramics, we acknowledge that there are so many amazingly talented and passionate (or soon to be!) artists that have faced barriers to participating in this artistic form. This sliding scale scholarship opportunity prioritizes Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

This scholarship opportunity is for people who identify as one or more of the following:

- BIPOC
- LGBTQ2S+
- Person with a disability
- Marginalized religious or cultural minority in the United States

How does it work?

Receivers of the scholarship are given up to 6 months of full studio and class access. The number of months is chosen by the scholarship recipient.

We understand that financial burden doesn't just dissolve after six months and ceramics is difficult to shake free of, so work-exchange, apprenticeships, or other aid opportunities may be available to those interested at the end of this program.

It is important to note that participation in this program will be anonymous. You will be treated no differently from any other member besides the assistance with funding.

How many people receive scholarships each month?

Each month we set aside a certain number of memberships for under-invitegroups. We hope to continue to grow this project so the number is not set in stone, but based on the available funds.

The Clay Corner is currently committed to allocating at least $3,000 per month worth of memberships.

We are not current
ly set up to accept donations, but stay tuned!
