FAQ
I need to take a glazing class but I don't see any on the schedule?
Your glaze class can happen during any Basic-Skill Level or All-Skill Level classes! (See note below about skill level categories.) When signing up for this class just add “Glazing” to the notes.
I'd like to pause/ cancel my membership, how do I do that?
Memberships can be edited/paused/canceled up to three weeks before the start of that month using the member portal. If you'd like to pause for December, for example, you need to use the portal to hold by November 10th or earlier. Cancellations work the same way.
Cancelations will always be accompanied by a confirmation email. You'll see holds added to your membership in red text on your main portal page.
A class is full, do I have options?
Yes! Standard wheel and hand-building classes are drop-in friendly. Even if it's your first time to the studio, come to class anyway! It's helpful to arrive ~5 minutes early if you're dropping in.

Reclaim Intake *ON PAUSE*
-
We are temporarily pausing reclaim intake so that so our program volunteers can catch up with our current stash of clay. Please do not bring any more reclaim to their work area.
-
We are still collecting mixed dry clay shavings in a bucket below each sink. This clay will go to food/yard waste.
-
A special thank you to David and Laura for all of their hard work on this program!

Studio Signs and Cleaning Messes
-
Since this is a shared community space, please be sure to keep an eye out for signs indicating the proper ways to use the space and most importantly, clean up after yourself. We've noticed an increased rate of left over messes. Leave a space just as clean or cleaner than you found it please! Thank you!

-
Bringing Friends!
-
If you'd like to bring a friend, you're welcome to do so any time. We just have a couple of honor-based requests:
-
One friend at a time.
-
They shouldn't come when the studio is particularly busy/ they shouldn't take a wheel from a member when all of the other wheels are full.
-
The purpose is to show your friend a bit about what clay is about! One or two times per friend max.
-
-
-
Don't forget that standard wheel and hand-building classes are drop-in friendly! It's helpful to arrive ~5 min early if you're dropping in.
-
This is a community studio. Please be conscious and respectful of your fellow studio mates.
-
Please be careful and caution around other people's work in the studio. When navigating around shelfs and the greenware area please be extra cautious not to bump other people's work. And if you do, please leave a note! Accidents happen, just say sorry. :)
-
Remember that class times are specifically set up for you. If you need help with anything please sign up for a class. We love sharing our knowledge.
North Studio Changes
FAQ
Will coaching be available to North Level members?
Technically, no. The biggest goal with this change is to reduce membership cost and part of that is to remove the retail sales tax requirement. By law, a membership that includes instruction must be taxed. If we provide formal coaching or instruction we would be required to charge 10.55% sales tax. Coaching would also require a staff member's time and limit our ability to charge as little as possible for membership.
How will classes change?
The class setup shouldn't change very much at all, aside from classes previously being held in the North moving to the South.
What will the updated North studio look like?
We are adding one more cubby unit and 3-4 more work tables. The space will also evolve as we learn more about it's new situation.
Can North Level members use the slab roller/extruder? What about the glaze mixing workshop?
All members will be able to use these spaces and equipment provided that they've taken the required classes.
Can you recap the new options for me?
Option 1: South Level Membership (Same membership you've always known). $386 including tax. No price change.
Option 2: North Level Membership. (Nearly the same, most notably, no access to classes). $275 no additional tax.
Additional option for North Level members: Classes Add-on (You can opt in and out of access to classes on a monthly basis with this add-on). $112/m including tax.
A North Level membership + Classes Add-on is designed to be the same as a South Level membership. Which is essentially full access to everything the studio has to offer.

In the evening, as staff leave at 9 pm we will check in with remaining members and turn off unused lights. If you’re the last one to leave please close door and turn off the lights!
